- The St. Killians candle is placed into the internal glass, which contains a small hole at the base
- The candle liquifies as it burns, until it reaches the base of the glass
- The candle burns for approximately 1.5 – 2hrs As the base of the candle liquifies it draws the wick down, thus extinguishing itself before leaving the glass through the hole in the base
- The remaining wax drops through into a tray of water, which is contained inside the candle rack
- Upon reaching the water tray the wax hardens and is easily removed.
